If you’re travelling regularly between the same two stations, you could save money and time by getting a monthly season ticket.
Monthly season tickets are cheaper than buying four weekly season tickets over the same period of time. You can also set-up auto-renewal on our smartcard to take out the hassle of renewing your season ticket, plus you’ll get your 12th month free.
This monthly train pass gives you a full calendar month of unlimited travel between the two stations on your ticket and any stations in-between on your route. Your season ticket can also be used as much as you like at any time of day, including evenings and on weekends saving you more money and time.
Use the season ticket calculator to find out how much you could save and then buy your ticket here.

Buying and renewing monthly season tickets
Before you buy an adult or child monthly season ticket, you’ll need a Photocard. Just take a recent passport-sized photo of yourself to your local ticket office and they’ll make one for free. If you’re getting a child Photocard, you’ll also need to bring a passport or birth certificate for proof of age.
Once you have a Photocard, you can buy or renew a Standard or First Class monthly season ticket. Children (aged 5-15 inclusive) get a 50% discount on Standard and First Class season tickets including London Travelcards. If your child's monthly season ticket starts before their 16th birthday, the 50% off travel will still apply until the ticket expires. Once they've turned 16, they can buy a 16-17 Saver to keep getting 50% off train travel.
If you have our free contactless Touch Smartcard, you can buy and renew an adult or child monthly season ticket online, on our app or by calling our contact centre. Monthly auto-renewal is also available online for most journeys on our network. If you’re at one of our stations, you can renew your season ticket at a ticket machine.
If you have our app and a compatible smart device, you can add your monthly train ticket instantly onto your smartcard. Tickets can also be collected after two hours from your chosen station’s smartcard reader.
With a smartcard, you can plan ahead with confidence and avoid the queues by buying and renewing your season ticket online or on our app up to 14 days in advance.
You can buy and renew a paper monthly season ticket from your local ticket office, our contact centre or online. You can only renew a season ticket at our ticket machines.
When you buy through our contact centre or online, paper season tickets will be sent to you by post. Read our postal delivery options to make sure it will arrive in time and covers the value of the ticket.
